June 25 - July 2, 2002

Here's all the elevator parts. A hell of a lot more than the vertical stabilizer. Here are the elevator stiffeners cut and deburred. These are very similar to the rudder stiffeners.

July 8, 2002

Here are the elevators after match drilling the stiffeners to the skins.

August 12 - 14, 2002

Deburred right elevator skin and deburred and dimpled right elevator rudder stiffeners. Deburred and dimpled electric trim reinforcement plate.

August 25 - 26, 2002

Dimpled stiffener holes in right elevator skin. Deburred and dimpled left elevator stiffeners and elevator stiffener holes. The left picture shows the skin "tied back" for easier access for deburring. I was afraid of permanently warping the skin, but it went right back into shape.

August 27 - 29, 2002

Fluted tip ribs for both elevators. Assembled, match drilled, deburred and dimpled tip ribs and counterbalance skins.

August 30, 2002
